Broward County Board of County Commissioners Board Workshop
The workshop focused on fiscal oversight and public safety funding, specifically addressing the FY26 budget appeal and the FY27 adopted budget. A major point of contention was the absence of representation from the Broward Sheriff's Office. Key discussions included the law enforcement feasibility study for Port Everglades, challenges regarding E911 budget management, and concerns over a recently identified 4% cost-of-living adjustment retroactive to the start of the fiscal year. The board emphasized the need for greater financial transparency and accountability in public safety partnerships.
