Board Board Meeting
The board meeting primarily focused on the authorization of task order number 14 concerning the interim containment design for the wastewater treatment plant's ballast ponds 1 and 2. Key discussions included the historical deterioration of the concrete pond liners, the engineering manager's recommendation for a double-lined geomembrane system as a short-term solution, and the strategic planning for long-term capital replacement. The board also evaluated the operational impacts of current pond usage and the financial trade-offs between immediate containment repairs and future infrastructure projects.
