Marathon County Board of Supervisors Educational and Adjourned Organizational Meeting
The board meeting focused on two primary topics: a proposed amendment to the county's animal waste management ordinance and a rezoning request. Regarding the animal waste ordinance, several farmers and stakeholders provided input, highlighting the importance of nutrient management plans and their role in preventing soil erosion and nutrient runoff into local waterways. The discussion on the rezoning request involved community members and town officials debating the appropriateness of rezoning a half-acre lot to agricultural use, with concerns raised about setting a precedent for similar requests and land use compatibility.
