Crook County Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update 2025
The Crook County Comprehensive Land Use Plan provides a long-range, advisory, and non-regulatory framework to guide land use decisions, infrastructure planning, and natural resource stewardship. The plan addresses growth pressures concerning water availability, road maintenance, emergency response, agricultural compatibility, and fiscal sustainability by emphasizing early evaluation, shared information, and voluntary guidance rather than prescriptive controls. Key strategic pillars include protecting natural resources and working landscapes, maintaining a rural way of life while preparing for future growth, and fostering county-wide partnerships. It utilizes a layered, advisory map framework focusing on water, agricultural resources, wildlife habitat, infrastructure, and community services to promote informed decision-making and support a resilient, self-reliant future for the community.
