Recent board meeting, budget, plan, and contract evidence, connected to the buyer and relevant decision-makers.
- Mary Seymour Public Library asked Lacombe council for just over $12,000 above last year's budget, citing a $25,000 annual spend and rising costs. - The library board said Bill 28 compliance requires reconfiguring the Kinsman Room for restricted materials, with options limited to supervised space or staff-retrieved access. - Parkland Regional Library requested a $16 per-capita increase for Lacombe, bringing its requisition to $1,105 per capita. - Parkland cited a Microsoft licensing jump from $52,000 to $196,000 and a website license rise from $33,000 to almost $88,000 annually.
- Libby trustees concluded that Amy Capone Muio's individual efforts are insufficient and that retaining a dedicated resource to refresh loan documents and the deaccession policy is now necessary. - The board voted to ask the Friends of the Libby and the Libby Museum Preservation Society for financial or in-kind help with moving and storing the collection. - A motion passed for the chair to meet with the incoming town manager to advocate for an added resource to support collection management. - Funding for the new resource may come from the U capital reserve or other town funds, but eligibility and availability remain unconfirmed.
