MEP - Gate 5 Safety Reconfiguration
In general, the work consists of: improving security and safety for fair patrons entering the Gate 5 pedestrian entrance at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. The existing 3,650 square-foot area will be demolished and reconstructed with new signage, decorative walls, fences, and lighting. A permanent 3,000 square-foot shade structure will replace the temporary tents currently used to process patron admissions, and new private electric, data, and camera infrastructure will be installed. Bollards will be installed on the sidewalk along 84th Street and Pierce Avenue to protect pedestrians from vehicular traffic. New stormwater utilities will be installed, and a portion of Wetley Way will be regraded and repaved to accommodate the new layout.
